The hearing on the framing of formal charges in the case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising will be held on July 1.

The three-member International Crimes Tribunal headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder gave the order on Tuesday. The other two members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
The other two accused in the case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun is in jail. He was produced before the tribunal today. The remaining two accused are absconding.
The tribunal said that state-appointed lawyers will be provided for the two absconding accused.
The investigation agency submitted the investigation report in this case to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office on May 12. After scrutiny, the Chief Prosecutor submitted a formal complaint to the Tribunal on June 1. The Tribunal took the formal complaint into consideration on the same day.
The Tribunal ordered a notice to be published in newspapers on June 16 to call for the surrender of the fugitive Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan. The next day, the notice was published in two newspapers. However, they did not surrender.
